Getting application logs

If you're facing issues with the Diarly app, remember that providing our support team with the application logs can be immensely helpful. These logs offer vital insights into the issues, enabling us to diagnose and resolve them more efficiently and effectively.

Accessing logs

If you're experiencing issues with Diarly on your Mac and need to send logs for troubleshooting, follow these simple steps.

On Mac

If you're experiencing issues with Diarly on your Mac and need to send logs for troubleshooting, follow these simple steps:

  1. Select Help > Report Issue from the Menu Bar. This can be found by clicking on Diarly in the top menu.
  2. Choose the Report Issue option. Your default Mail app will open automatically with a new email. This email will have the necessary logs attached.

If you don’t have an email account set up on your Mac, you can still access the logs:

  • Go to Help > Contact Us from the Menu Bar and select Contact Us.
  • This action will provide you with a link to the logs directory: ~/Library/Containers/com.pureformstudio.diaryOSX/Data/Library/Logs/Diarly.
  • Alternatively, you can navigate to this directory directly using Finder.

On iOS

For iOS users, here's how you can send logs from your device:

  1. Access the Diarly Settings.
  2. Tap on Report Issue.
  3. Similar to the Mac version, the default Mail app will open with an email draft containing the attached logs.

Extra logging for iCloud issues

If you're encountering problems with iCloud Sync, extra logging can be helpful:

  1. Access the Diarly Settings.
  2. Tap on Sync.
  3. Enable the checkbox for extra logging.
  4. Restart the app to begin generating more detailed logs from the Sync service.

These steps will help you quickly gather and send the necessary information for troubleshooting your Diarly application.
