Removing Diarly

Whether you’re using a Mac or an iOS device, this guide will help you delete Diarly and remove its associated data.

Back up your data before deleting

Before you delete Diarly, consider backing up your data if you want to keep a copy of your journal entries.

Delete Diarly from your Mac

You can remove Diarly from your Mac in a couple of ways.

Use Diarly’s menu options

  1. Open Diarly.
  2. In the macOS menu bar, choose Diarly > Help > Contact Support.
  3. Scroll to the bottom.
  4. Click ⚠️ Remove all data.

This removes all data from your computer and iCloud.

Manually remove local files

To manually delete local files, remove the following directory:

~/Library/Containers/com.pureformstudio.diaryOSX

Delete Diarly from your iOS device

To remove Diarly and its data from your iOS device:

  1. Open Diarly and go to More > Sync.
  2. Turn off Sync to remove the backup from iCloud.
  3. Uninstall Diarly from your device to remove local data.

If you forgot your password

If you can’t remember your password, you can reset Diarly without restoring the iCloud backup.

  1. Reinstall Diarly and open the app.
  2. When prompted for a password to restore the iCloud backup, select Cancel.
  3. Go to More > Sync and turn off Sync.
  4. Wait a few seconds, then turn Sync back on.

Remove your data from iCloud backup without Diarly installed

If Diarly is not installed on your device but you want to remove its data from iCloud:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. Tap your Apple ID > iCloud Drive > Manage Storage.
  3. Look for Diarly in the list and remove its data.
