Deleting entries

Deleting an entry in Diarly is a permanent action. If you're unsure about permanently removing an entry, consider archiving it instead. Archiving offers a safe alternative, allowing you to retain the entry without it appearing in your active notes.

How to delete an open entry

If you have an entry already open and decide it's no longer needed, you can delete it directly:

  1. Open the entry or note you want to delete.
  2. At the top of the screen, tap the three dots icon .
  3. From the dropdown menu, choose Delete.

Manage entries in the list view

Whether you're using a Mac or an iOS device, Diarly makes it easy to manage and delete entries from the list view.

On Mac

  1. Go to the list view.
  2. Select the entries you want to delete. To select multiple entries, hold down the Shift key while clicking.
  3. Right-click on the selected entries and choose Delete.

On iOS

  1. Navigate to the list view.
  2. Swipe left on the entry you wish to delete.
  3. Tap More, then select Delete.

Remember, if you're not entirely sure about removing an entry for good, archiving is a great alternative to keep your notes safe and retrievable in the future.
